06/06 "I'm Gay, OK?"

Quote From: prschuster

And here we have yet another long-winded sermon about what God thinks and what God wants us to do. And the only justification people have for telling us what the word of God is, comes from an ancient book written by people who thought the sun revolved around the earth, and that God made Adam by breathing into a handful of mud. Why should anyone with any common sense take the writtings of such a book so literally, that it trumps their own heart? This is a clueless response to an incredibly heart wrenching personal story. How can one take such a cold-hearted attitude and euphemistically refer to it as the will of God? If there is any validity to Christianity, it must speak through the heart - not through the superstitions of an ancient collection of scriptures.

BTW, I will not waste time & energy commenting on the disgusting attitude displayed by comparing gay relationships to bestiality, pedophilia, fornication, sexual addiction or perversion. It is impossible to argue with this level of ignorance, especially after having read a heartfelt account of a loving relationship that was supported by a loving family, instead of being demonized or met with the chill of social isolation, as I have seen with so many gay couples.

and that God made Adam by breathing into a handful of mud.

And science postulates that life happened spontaneously (abiogenesis) or the "primal soup" accident-something they have never been able to achieve in a lab and something we have never seen occur in nature.

When science can replicate the event of the creation life from non-life, I will believe that ....otherwise, I'm sorry, God has my belief.

I agree with you.  Some hetros are ungodly and need saving...some gays are ungodly and need saving.  We are every one of us sinners and God doesn't prefer one sin to another or hat one sin more than another.  But sins IMO  are all ways of turning away from our love of Jesus - they are sins of the spirit.  There are gay people who love Jesus and are just as certain of salvation as am I-sinner that I am.
