Alex has issues

The signs are clear, no 14-15 year old acts this way unless something prior to this event had happened. This is her way of placing the hurt and blame on someone else. Other issues need to be addressed, she will not speak of the event unless she feels safe and secure of her surroundings. No cameras, no Mom and patient doctor confidentiality exist. She will not come out on national television so as long as you are filming she will not breathe a word of the truth.
I agree with you ; the focus needs to be on Alex first. It is true that you have an over concerned aunt here whom I think has other reasons for her involvement. There are clearly issues between the aunt and mother and the poor child is being pulled apart in two different directions. This is only harming the child and confusing her more. The aunt's concern did bring this matter to the attention of the Dr. Phil show, so be thankful for that. Could be each of these adults have issues within themselves and their frustration is being taken out on this child. Only the Doctor will be able to find this out through talking to them individually. Too many children are being abused in this country and going unnoticed. I praise the aunt for taking the courage to step in like she has. In todays world a 14-15 year old is like having an adult in your house. Alex is not modeling what she See's in her home; Alex is doing what she wants to do for the attention that she feels she needs in her life at this time. Next we will be reading that Alex is pregnant and the state will be taking care of Alex and her baby. Nothing this mother can do now will help this child unless they come together as a family and all want to help not only Alex but themselves. This child will never change if she knows she has a aunt to turn to every time she messes up. Alex needs to stop blaming others and take responsibility for her own actions. Something that you are never too old to learn. If the aunt wants to help Alex, she needs to back off and only be there for Alex as a person of interest and not a person with a vendetta,
