Parent Trap
Quote From: bigboy1I know of a simular situation in South Africa, this man paid for eigth year child support and then found out that he was not the bio farther. The court decided the woman must pay back all the money with interest. Gloria Allred is as wrong as Enrique was in the way that he handled telling Selina that he is not her biological father. She doesn't care where the support comes from as long as it's not from public assistance; yet the biological father has no responsibility in the matter. Why? Maria and the biological father are responsible for this mess, but according to "Miss Feminist" (Gloria Allred), Enrique is blasted because he wants to be relieved of the financial responsibility. Since when is it acceptable to engage in an adultrous affair, conceive a child outside of the marriage, and the biological father is "set free"? Yes, I agree that there are emotional factors to be considered regarding the relationship between the child and the accused father, but nevertheless, a wrong has to be made right and ignoring the reality of the real situation is only an easy way out. It has become all too common for society to "look the other way" in matters that have complicated consequences. There is a proper time and a proper way to handle such instances, and as I've stated earlier "looking the other way" only creates an additional problem rather than solving the present one at hand. The only winner in this mess is the biological father. It's funny how Enrique and Maria can dissolve the marriage because of an adultrous affair, but he's still stuck with the financial responsibility of the problem that came about during the affair.
