Hey All

I'm so disgusted with myself. Early February I lost 15 pounds and as of yesterday I have managed to put it all back on.

I weigh 243, I am 5'4", I am going to give it another go. I do weight watchers and I was hoping I would find some friends and encouragement here.

I'll check back later.

starting all over again.....

Hey everyone ! Im 24 years old and am struggling with my weight. Im a single mom with a daughter who will be 5 months in July. I've always struggled with weight issues and have tried diets and pills and that fad crap.... safe to say apparently it didn't work or i wouldn't be writing this. "diet" to me is a bad 4 letter word i here it and its like its a set up for me to fail all the time. Well since my daughter was born I realized somethings gotta give, i know at this point in my life that when she starts moving im not going to be able to keep up and i don't want to hold back having fun with her because I cant handle it. I guess im here to meet new people and to get support. I have at least 100 - 120 lbs to lose. Just looking at those numbers makes me want to cry and throw my hands up but I have to be honest with myself. I just got The Ultimate Weight Lost Solution The 7 Keys To Weight Loss. I know if other can do it I can too. So lets get our moticational heads together and get going... good luck to you all

I want my body back!

I am very worried about my health and I am really having a hard time getting started on a diet. I really don't see that I eat more than I always have but it shows in the size of pants I wear. When I met my boyfriend I weighed 189 and was getting my confidence back from a separation. I now weigh 240 and have a heital hernia, I'm always tired and stressed out. Help!!!

you're on the right track

HI, jessm, and welcome to this site.  It's amazing how quickly the pounds come on and how hard it is for them to get off.  Food is such a tricky thing because it is something we have to learn to control.  It's not like drinking where you can just never have a drink again and you will live, but food, we have to unlearn all those habits we have had for years in order to recieve success.

Don't give up hope.  You are reaching out for help and this is a great place for it.  I have just recently started reading the Weight Solution book by Dr. Phil and it is right on.  If you haven't read it yet, I highly recommend it.

I hope to hear from you again and good luck!

Oh, by the way another thread that I have been reading is the 200 lbs to loose section.  I only have about 90 to loose, but I find that these people are very active in writing and a lot of their thought processes on food are the same and I've found some good help.  Just thought you'ld like to know.

Hi, I am a Mom of two and am pregnant with third child..  I have tried everything under the sun to lose weight and i would lose a little bit and  gain it back..  Come to find out my thyroid was under active  so after getting on the pills to straighten that out , I've been losing weight but  its been a long hard Journey  and I am  still struggling.. I started at 287 lbs, I'm 5'6-5'7.. I have managed to get myself down to 235-240lbs but  i'm far from my goal , my goal weight right now is 180lbs  but in the end I would love to be at 160lbs ..

I would have to say my most frustrating and hurtful time was last month, my mom just got married for the second time.. we lost my dad suddenly  in 2004 and she  got remarried in June . I looked for months for something to wear as I was maid of honour..  I had a lovely pair of dress pants I bought for it but could i find anything in a top no.. i ended up wearing an old black sun dress that i had for about 6 years   and dressed it up with a shawl..  I felt horrible looking for stuff cause even after losing that much weight  I couldn't  find something that looked nice  to be able to wear.  i got back in our Van where my husband and kids were waiting cause they left the store before I did and i just broke down into tears cause  it just seems like no matter how hard i work that its never good enough.. and that unless I'm down to some  horrible never acheivable  size 2 that i am never gonna find something that looks nice.. that looks great on me  that isn't  a tank top or some shapeless ugly top or bottom or anything..

Its a journey and  we all have to work together and support each other  cause if no one else will we gotta...

We can do it!

I also did Weight Watchers.  Great program.  I do know that it's not a DIET but a life change.  So many of us have major issues with compulsive habits.   I'll ready to re-commit also.  Let's chat for support.

We may be the only ones out here...but we can help each other.  I too am just starting...again.  I need to lose closer to 200 lbs and can't even see the tunnel let alone the light at the other end.  Don't give up....we can lean on each other, and both of us will be stronger.   Lisa

Just gettin started

I am just getting started on Dr. Phil's weight lost program. I am listening to his book on tapes. I'm 47 single with two teenage boys. 5 feet 1 inch and 200 lbs. I start programs but drop them within weeks. I worry that I going to go down that path again. I going to try and change the negative dialog e in my head about failing.

hi, I've never done this either,, but here goes... I'm also on  weight watchers and doing very well... I have to keep remembering that this a life style change... I know it sounds stupid but diets don't work... they are only temporary... I have to learn to live differently... everyone tries to be so helpful and say what can you eat on your diet... I have to say everything, just  like our WW leader says, just not the whole thing... I try now to throw left overs out(especially birthday  cake or desserts) cause otherwise, I just have to hurry up and eat the rest so it doesn't spoil.... by the way I started at 277 and since May i've lost 40 lbs, but i'm walking every day and just trying to keep focused.. if I can do it...you can do it...  just don't get invited to the "pitty party", its like the hotel california. you can check out anytime you want..but you can never leave... good luck and hopefully knowing there are lots  of us out there supporting you will help....
