Searching for Birth Parents

Quote From: pinkdawn

Hello, I am 19 and I was adopted at three months old. I am looking for my biological father (David Scott Wright) and any siblings that I may have. I was born on May 21, 1988 in Kansas City, Kansas at University Hospital. Unfortunately that is all the information that I have on them. I would appreciate any information that any one may have. Thank you for your time.

 Sincerely,

     Misty Gates

Hi Misty,

May not be the best news in the world, but I have found a David Scott Wright, born 9/26/1965, lived in Kansas City, Kansas at some point, and is now on probation for a felony in Clearwater, Florida.  If you go here:

http://www.dc.state.fl.us/activeoffenders/detail.asp?Bookmark=7&From=list&SessionID=705837789

you can see a picture of him.  It appears to be driving offenses if I'm reading it right.

If you click on the word Clearwater, it will give you the probation office address and phone number.  If you think it might be him, that would maybe be the best way to contact him.  If you know your birth mother and show her the photo, she might be able to confirm or say it is not him.

     Best of luck to you.

Susan

How can a person experience the truth when they were born in a lie??

After over three years of searching for my sibling I am coming to some realizations that are troubling to me! I am beginning to think that my sibling that was put up for adoption has never been told that she was adopted. This was the case with one of the women that I contacted. The Texas Angels looked into her records and clearly she was adopted and she had no clue. I gave her an out saying that I was tracking all the women born in Odessa in 1950. This is the truth because I am. I probably left this woman thinking I am some sort of nut! Maybe I am when it comes to this search! I wanted to tell her.. yes.. you were definitely adopted! The angels looked into your records and it shows you are, and I have never known them to be wrong! I do not want to out this woman unless she is my sister! Even then I want time to see if this is the right thing to do. Then comes my brain saying this woman should know that she was adopted. How will she ever know her true medical history? If she is my sister she has some issues that need to be checked BIG TIME! If she is not should she live her whole life in a lie?? She said her parents had passed away. There is no one to tell her the truth. I am grappling with this. I need to see her. I think if I talk with my sister face to face I will know her! We have strong Irish genes that makes us unmistakeably family!! I always believe the truth is best isn't that what Dr Phil preaches?? Why would it not be relevant to this as well?? I guess I just don't get it!!

Searching

Hi I am Amber....I have recently decided to look for my real dad.  When I turned 18 my parents and I thought it would be a good idea to do and they thought I was finally ready.  Well my birth mother was no help to where I can find him but I think I might have a social security number, full name, and birthday.  And if anyone knows a search engine that will actually help me find him I would greatly appreciate anything.  Thank You

Washington State adoption

I was born in Yakima Washington March 14 1958 and adopted at birth. I was always discouraged about searching for my birth family (also 3 siblings) because of the laws for closed adoptions. Does anyone know if laws have changed  there for opening records?

Adopted in 1962

My name on my "birth certificate" is Janalyn Cooley. I was adopted on June 3rd, 1962 by Bette and Robert Cooley. I have three siblings, all boys and all older than I am. My birth parents divorced when I was four years old. Both of my adopted parents have passed away. My birth mother refused to tell me anything about my adoption. My relationship with my birth father was non-existent. I grew up in California but I recently moved to New Braunfels, Texas. My birth parents were from Indiana and Ohio. I have no idea how to find my birth parents with no information. I tried to get medical records and was refused. I would like to know where I come from. If anyone could offer suggestions I would appreciate it.

I too was adopted and located my birth parents when I was 21. That event changed many peoples lives and frankly not for the good. Remember, some people do not wish to tell their children that are adopted because they want that child to be bonded with them and their family. I don't agree or disagree, but when you mess with peoples lives and values be prepared to accept the results.
