A staple of any weight loss plan is moderate daily exercise. Pilates, yoga, and aerobics are hugely popular, along with good old-fashioned walking! What exercises do you find most effective? Share your routine with us!

Still experimenting with weights

My arms felt fine after yesterday's first trial run figuring out what weights I should start with, but my back was a little sore last night. So I can move up to heavier ones on some of the reps. Today I do the aerobics phase, I already know what I can do there.(In the past my workouts were heavily slanted towards the aerobics side.) The day after I will experiment with the lower body, abs workout.
I did my first aerobics the day before yesterday, and I have to say, 20 minutes of Phillip's routine got me more out of breath and sweating than an hour of my old routine. I also had slight soreness in my legs so I know I really worked it.
Yeah! I'm all for it!
On Monday I will have figured out the weights I will start with and begin my "training-for-life" in earnest.

Invigorated!

I've been doing the "Body-for-Life" exercise program for awhile now, and I have to say, I feel almost like I'm cheating! The workouts don't stretch into marathons but I work up a good sweat and can feel that I've accomplished something without being sore or exhausted when I'm done. In fact, I feel invigorated for the rest of the day!
Onward and upward.

Trouble getting Started

I'm having such a hard time fitting excercise into my schedule. I don't know what to due. I'm married and have kids and also work a full-time & part-time job. When I get home I'm so tried. But I have to exercise to get this weight off. And that's the only way the weight is going to come off. Anyone have any suggestion for me?

Hello!  I just thought I'd share with you what has helped me.  I am a personal trainer and I also needed something new to do to help with weight loss.  People should be walking approx. 10,000 step per day which equals about 5 miles.  Use a pedometer!  They are a great motivator and a reminder to move more.  Park further away from the store at the mall instead of fighting for the closest spot or mow the lawn at a fast walk.  Also, if you make it fun it doesn't seem like such a chore.  My favorite is water aerobics - not just because I teach it but because it relaxes me to be i the water, you don't get all sweaty, and there is less impact on the joints.  Walk with a friend so you all can talk and make the time go by faster.   JJust moving more each day will get you going.  Be sure to let your doctor know your plans - it's a good, idea to get a physical before beginning any exercise routine.  Hope this helps!  Update me on you success - YOU CAN DO IT- ONE DAY AT A TIME AND YOU ARE WORTH ALL THE EFFORT:-)

unfortunately i guess what ur doctor told u wasn't the perfect advice he should give a woman in ur case ... the trouble is riding bikes at this age is quite noisy to u . however u can have diet with two hours walk aday  rather than ridding bikes .  remember having diet doesn't mean u die of hunger , u have choices such as the indonesia style it is the best ... thank you

I am 16 years old. And I love Dr. Phil, I watch him everyday when I come home from school. He's amazing.

I feel that I have a couple pounds on me, that shouldn't be there. I love to drink pop, and eat perogies, chips, popcorn, pogos, pizza etc. I always eat my fruits and vegetables. I want to go on a diet (as in, I want to ditch, all these greasy, and fattning foods, and eat much healthier) but I dont know how. When I get up to walk to the fridge, I tell myself, eat something healthy, but once I get there, I see the pop, and pour myself a glass, and then I'll see the Doritos or popcorn sitting there, and I grab it, and hit the couch. I dont relaly exercise, I walk around my town (we live in a very small town) sometimes, whenever I go out with friends. But, I want to get a flatter stomach, thinner thighs, and a smaller butt. I dont know how. I always tell myself, tomorrow I'll ditch my habits, but I can never seem too. I dont have money or the time to go to the gym, and I dont know what aerobics are or pilates. What kind of exercises should I do, and what kind of food is HEALTHIER to eat, can anyone please give me advice on how to stick to my goals?!

Melissa.

According to what u have written in ur posted message i think u imply that u have bad thoughts about ur body , ur from usa so that u r  enough free to have more than one hour walk to anywhere u want , let me tell me about my 19 years old sister she always tells me about her biggest fear which is if she gains weights her husband will lose  interest in her, it is absolutely Not reasonable so it made her very very skinny ,,(like poor black african childern ) please don't make this mistake and beleive me it begins like that ..However my sister is healthy now ..and we give thanks to god .... bye
