Quote From: angel111999I really wanted to send something to
you. A new consignment store just
opened up around the corner from my house and I picked up these things that were suited just for you. I am a bargain hunter and spend a lot of time going to thrift stores to get things for the
elderly that are so poor. I have spent
the last week cleaning out my closets
and basement and dropped off a lot of things to make money for my son who
is having financial problems now that he lost his job. My house is so confusing
now. My son had to move out of his
place and move his things here. There
is never a dull moment here.
I hope you change your mind because
I am so excited about what I found for you.
The gift of giving has always been rewarding for me. I have been
consignment store shopping for 31
years. I love yard sales for all the treasures that I can find. People are so surprised that I have never shopped in
a mall yet... I always look good. Being
a single parent for 13 years taught me
how to be thrifty. When I worked two
full time jobs I had to pay for my mother's medical expenses and take
care of my son so I had no choice but
to be a bargain hunter. That's how I always had to make ends meet when I
was going through difficult financial
times.
Mu son had to put a new muffler on his
car today and I was able to give him him the money with the money I had received
from the other consignment store I have been going to for 10 years.
So please rethink what I would like to do for you. It would be my pleasure to send
a small token of my appreciation for meeting someone as "special" as you are here.

A fellow treasure hunter. YAY!
Did you know that Sarah Palin wore clothes to accept Vice Presidential nomination from a thrift store in Alaska? Sadly, the charm was taken away as the campaign organizers decided she needed to dress for success and purchased (I think $150,000) in designer clothes from Neiman Marcus etc. Yet part of her charm is her thriftiness and, definitely, something America needs to learn.
I started shopping at thrift stores for used jeans because every time I bought new after I washed them they didn't fit because shrunk or were too big because didn't shrink. You know how sizes vary... In the Hippie days, though, thrift stores were the in thing.
Well, if it is a "small" token that's fine. However, if you get to post office and postage is WAY more than you thought... I'll know you needed the funds for your son. I just always like people to have an out. Because, really, books ARE used. Some look like never read or just read part of the way yet nonetheless... still used. Sadly, some have been written in yet I have found often things I would have taken notes of. A lot of books have those bitty colored post-it thingy dos that were advertised on Oprah's Webinar she had with Eckhart Tolle.
BTW: Angel, how do those consignment stores work? Again, it is SO great to find another person as frugal and thrifty as me. YAY! And... THANK YOU.

GOOD FOR YOU ANGEL!!! I'm VERY impressed with how you donate and go to consignment store when you clean out closets and basement. GREAT IDEA!!! We need to suggest consignment store to fellow member itsme62 so she can afford to buy her hot water heater and have installed and plumbing fixed to code for that and tub.
Hugging prayers from Dallas for you and your family...
