hello

ok well i'm an 18 year old girl, and i haven't ever had a real friend. I honestly have no idea why, I consider myself nice, and i'm not mean to people, and i dont shut them down b4 i get to know them, but it seems like every 1 i meet does that to me, i cant go out and make new friends because i dont have any one to go out with, and i can't stand going out by myself, because i generally stay that way the entire time i'm out, and it makes it basically pointless. I'm 18 years old i should be out having fun, but I can't have fun by myself... and this all just recently became a problem because I just left my fiance and now i have no one, and nothing.

Wondering why

I have difficulty forming friendships. I don't know why. I have had "close" friendships in the past. I have gotten rid of those friendships from my past, because of certain things that were going on in my life at the time and it was my choice to do it. It was best for me and my children. But now I am having a hard time finding people to become friends with. Is there something that I am doing wrong? Where can I go and find these friendships without going to the bar every night? I don't work I am a stay at home mom. What should I do? My man travels alot, I would just like someone to have coffee with and or go shopping. Even someone that has children so they can all play.

Can someone help?

I to am a stay at home mom and am really lonely.  I have 3 young children all under 4 and no friends.  No friends that I can go out shopping with or anything I have met a nice woman on these boards and we email back and forth so now I get alittle adult conversation which is really nice.  I would like the same things as you basically.  My man doesnt travel but he does work alot 50+ hours a week at his job plus odd jobs with our landlord and snow removal.  We dont go to the bars we dont even really go out so I am lost at how to make friends if you find out anything that works please let me know

just need someone to talk to

well everyone I feel the same way you gals do too!  Dont you wish you had those people you can just vent with?  I am here if anyone needs someone to talk to! You never have enough or too many friends!  Life is better when you have people to share it with.  I have my two children and feel overwhelmed no friends, now no spouse or boyfriend.  When I get a friend they always seem to disappear......

Wow, you girls all sound like how I feel!!  haha  I'm at home with a 1 1/2 yo and a 5 mth old.  We have also just started our business from home.  But, since moving to this city (an hour from where my family is), I have made no friends!!  I'm 30 and find it very hard to make friends now!!  I wish I had some so we could catch up and vent or chat or kids could play etc.  Why is it so hard?  I avoid coffee groups etc because I find it too hard to take both kids out... so I stay home all day.  I seem to have lost my confidence in making friends...  so don't like to go out on my own or to anything new.  My husband is great and he's a great support.  But he's working most of the day.  I find it hard not having any adult chat during the day. That's when I found this site...  Would be great to make friends on here :-)

Hello Rosie!  Thought I'd say hi, how's it going?  I just got up (it's 10.30am Sat morning here), and my husband lets me sleep in on a Sat morning so I'm lucky.  Mind you, it was much needed sleep!! haha  Well, I have a 1 1/2 yo girl, and a 5mth old boy, (and a 9yo from previous relationship), so I am kept very busy.  And my husband and I just started our new business last year.  So with all of this I don't get a lot of time to myself....  but, this is my time to myself - on these message boards!! haha.  How are you today?

Hi ya again!  Well it is a great way of meeting people, or venting, or getting advice or sharing your own experience etc.  Yeah I don't get out alot - mainly because I find it scary to go out on my own with 2 littlies!  I'm fine when my husband is with me!  hehe  I know what it's like in your situation and how lonely it can get. I was on my own with first baby (now 9yo), and found it really tough.  My situation is so much easier now.  I still get lonely during the day with no adult chat, so i enjoy it when my husband gets home!!  :-)  Well, if you feel like keeping in touch - I'm happy to via email :-)  Feel free to email me:  deb@graphicfx.co.nz.  Have a happy day!  Though it sounds like you are - cos you're on here!!  haha And it's great when you're not too busy aye!  :-)  Glad you wrote back though, thanks =)
