Dr. Phil continues his work with four engaged couples who wonder if they’re ready to take the plunge. With issues such as abuse, infidelity, chauvinism and unplanned pregnancy, the couples move into The Dr. Phil House to see if their relationship has a chance to survive. After completing the last leg of the teamwork challenge, tensions in the House run high as one team gives up and accuses the other of cheating. Scott is confronted about his questionable game tactics. Will he admit to cheating and apologize? Then, since the women complain that their fiancés don’t pay them enough attention, Dr. Phil invites some good-looking gentlemen to the house to pamper the women. While each woman has a one-on-one talk with an attractive stranger, the men secretly watch. Which women reveal the good, the bad and the ugly about their relationships, and which one says her man is perfect? During an intense meeting, Dr. Phil doesn’t mince words when he tells them which couples don’t stand a chance of a successful marriage. What is behind Kalin’s anger? Will Stephanie stop trying to control Steve? And, Dr. Phil makes an offer to Scott and Lisa that brings them to tears. Plus, a huge prize is at stake when a money expert quizzes the couples on how well they know their partner’s financial situation. Talk about the show here.

Find out what happened on the show.

I couldn't agree more

HOW MANY TIMES HAS THIS GUY BEEN MARRIED???????????????????

AND DOSE THIS GAL KNOW????

I SURE WOULD BE ASKING QQQQQQQ'S WOULDN'T YOU.

WELL WHAT WILL GO ON IF SHE FINDS OUT THE REAL TRUTH?

Dr. Phil said this girl will be his 4th wife!  That old friend of mine (from back years ago) would have been number 2  (I think).  I know when she married him he had been married once before.  The thing is, he is the same as he was 18 years ago.  Don't get me wrong, he was a "nice" guy but all the things he is going through now is how he was back then.  What they show on the show is NOT the whole story.  This guy has much more of a "past" and I will not put it on the message boards.  I think his new girlfriend seems intelligent and should just bail out now.  She supports herself and needs to think she is worth more than she does.

02/19 The Dr. Phil House: Rules of Engagement, Part 2

Quote From: ksfarm

Alright, I need to speak my mind.

I really like Dr. Phil but can I say that his shows lately have been depressing.  Where does he find these crazy people?

Here is an idea for you Phil.

Do the opposite show!  Show couples that are best friends and Know how to work together.  Have a game where couples have to work together to win and show people what being married is suppose to be like.

I love being married to my best friend. If I saw your show before I married my husband- I would of run for the hills. Your shows make marriage/relationships look like somethiing from a horror movie.

Honestly- I never dreamed of being so happy.  How about showing GOOD marriages.

Michelle

Hello, Michelle,

Dr. Phil does shows on messed up people BECAUSE they are messed up. The ones who are happy and well-adjusted don't need his help.

Remember,  it's his profession to help people who need it.

02/19 The Dr. Phil House: Rules of Engagement, Part 2

Quote From: cndrlla

It is truly wonderful that you and your husband have succeeded in creating a happy and strong marriage! But you ARE the exception, not the rule. And it is BECAUSE it's not the rule that Dr. Phil, and anyone else who has wisdom and experience, is against young marriages.

To all of you out there who scream, "I did this and I did that, and what you say doesn't apply to me"....well, fine. If it doesn't apply to you, don't get upset over it! Just smile and take comfort in the fact that it doesn't apply to you...and relax!

It is difficult to have a happy marriage when you are a teenager.  Being 19 doesn't make it any easier or any more difficult to be married.

Meanwhile, what are Tim and Lilly to do?  They seem realistic.  They understand they should have professional counseling going into their marriage.  And part of this counseling involved finances.  The youngest couple had the most knowledge and best grip on the role of money within a marriage.  $20,000 first prize will help them on their way.

pregnant fiancee...

When I heard the fiancee say that, it sounded like Stephanie's voice.  I'm wondering if its her that's pregnant with another guy's baby because it looks like a "princess" heavy episode.

I wasn't even going to bother to respond to you because from reading your answer to me and to other posters, you tend to twist things and misinterpret things.   But I decided to give it a try anyway....

First of all no one said that "partying" is a way of life.  But I do think that if you miss out on important occasions and activities  as an older teen or young adult that someday you may resent it. Secondly, who said that they wanted this young couple to fail?  Stating what should be obvious; that raising a child (which is not easy even under optimal circumstances) is going to be difficult under their circumstances does not equal wanting them to fail.  They are going to have a very rough road ahead of them.  That is a fact!!!  They are marrying very young and have not completed their educations which would enable them to provide well for themselves and their child.  And they are arguing alot. This makes the case for waiting until you are mature enough emotionally as well as financially before having children. Since it is already after the fact for them, they are going to have to work very very hard if this is to work out.

What you said in your post is exactly what I've been saying, too....only I seem to get blasted on this message board whenever I stress how important education is, and how it's a bad idea to marry and have babies too young. People act like I'm the only one who says these things!

I hear, "Oh, I'm different. I  have a successful marriage...and I was only..whatever age." and to those I say, "Wonderful. Then I'm not talking to you, so chill!"

People say, "That's just your opinion".....no. It's a fact, like it or not. Some things are true whether people want to believe it...or agree with it...or not. The statistics are clear.  I may not sugarcoat things, because I hate ignorance, but at least I tell the truth!

Scott

Scott (in the Dr. Phil House) just doesn't "get it," that he has missed the train!  At age 47, he has no chance to become a big  pop star.   His girlfriend is a realist.  And she, by the way, can "do better" than Scott.  She should get out of this relationship ASAP.  His constant whining, "She doesn't support me," is very childish. She just wants him to grow up and become a responsible male.    I have a 40-year-old son-in-law exactly like Scott.   I recognize   his problem.

At least Scott finally realized that HE might be the problem, and asked for help.  I hope he "gets it."

I am aware of that

I know that is his "profession" .

But I disagree with you.  How much help is he giving to the viewers that only see the dark side of marriage and the worst kinds of people. Shouldn't they also see healthy couples that have learned how live a wonderful fulfulling life together?

I am not saying to have a complete show on well adjusted people. I am saying to show the type of marriage that people should try to have.  One that knows how to respect each other and work  together.

It is amazing how women always perceive themselves as a contributor, no matter how toxic they are. If there are problems, it must be with the guys, because women are just perfect. I think they all came to Dr. Phil house to fix the guys and enjoy the victory. Women are supposed to be very perceptive and intuitive and relationships experts, and I still wait for some proof of it. They are as blind as men can be, but add the amazing arrogance to it, and you just can't beat that! I see around me with my friends how guys carry on all the load of couple issues, trying to live up to their girlfriends or wives standards, which they never achieve themselves by the way. Practice what you preach and what you excpect from others. Often guys just gives up or gets violent from frustration of dealing with irrational demands.
I totally agree with you, being a woman can be confusing.  I think the main problem is that people don't live up to the expectations of their spouse.  Which obviously turns into resentment.  I think relationships should be layed out like a contract.  This is what  I expect, this is what I want, and does it match your realm of expectations.  I think there shouldn't be any surprises or hidden agendas, lol which is rare if you ask me... l8r days:)

Marriage Readiness Test

At the end of the show, Dr. Phil spoke of a "marriage readiness test" on the website.  I am having trouble finding it.  Can someone guide me to it?  Would really appreciate it!!

Dr. Phil and Robin have a great marriage, and it's displayed everyday.  The man is here to help people.  After he helps fix these marriages Iam sure he'll show their success for your viewing pleasures.  The overall point, this stuff gets good ratings... l8r  days
