this time I need to do it the right way!

I finally found the message board and hopefully this is a new beginning for me. am new to all of this. am not one to let anyone know am trying to lose weight,@for asking for help. I have lost 130 lbs. back almost 4 years ago,and I had promised myself to never let myself gain it back as it sure felt good to be where I was. well here I am back in old habits and not realizing why I let myself down everytime. Food has got to be not my best friend when am not happy or things are not going good in my life,which is why am back to the heaviest I have been in my life. I have been lucky so far that my health has been pretty good,but as time goes and with age,that can change in a minute. so here i am and hoping this challenge will give me the strength and really learn the right way to get healthy and be happy. I too have the books and keep saying I will get to them one day,well today they are now in the kitchen and will be honest with myself i do need support from others then thinking am going to do this alone. I hope to learn from you guys and will give support to anyone and keep encouraging others to do there best as we need to say that to ourselves everyday and not beat ourselves up. debbie

All ready lost 50!

Hello everyone!  My Name is Georgette and I have lost 50 pounds using Weight Watchers and Dr.  Phil's Books.  I weighed 247 pounds in January and desided I could take control of my life and joined WW.  I love it I can still enjoy food, but all ready feel so much better I cannot Imagine what another 50 pounds off is going to feel!  I can tell you all that remember I did it 1 pound at a time and I remind myself I never have to see that pound of fat again! I find strength in my friends and family and I read Dr.  Phils books over and over.  I am excited to talk with others who are going through the same thing. I walk for exercise.

I am also in a wheelchair due to post-polio.  I have Richard Simmon's exercise video which I really like plus another one called Chair Dancing (I think).  I haven't had them out in a while, but they do help and you can do as much or as little as you are able.  One of the best things I have done was to have a 'buddy' who I had to report to every day, whether I exercised or not and why.  If I didn't call her, she called me.  It was terrific, but I got sick and never got back on board.  We can do this.  Jeanette

Need Support

I have tried every diet known and some made up.  I need to loose at least 100 pounds.  I am going to try again with this weight loss challenge that Dr. Phil has started.  I am going to reread his book, start going back to curves and trying to figure out what foods I should and should not eat.  I have medical issues that will get worse if I do not get this weight off.  I have no one I can get support from and I really need a sounding board and advise.  I hope this will be a good place to get support.

today's show

I watched today's show plus I have read the book as well. I have been a yo-yo dieter all my life. I have at one time lost over 75 lbs but have since gained most of it back. I am so ready to join this challenge and do it with the people on the show from today

Me Two

I am 53 and have gained 100 lbs over the last 10 - 15 years. Medication and age/hormones were major contributors. I lost 16 lbs summer of '07 but have gained it all back. I started a 'boot camp' last month and felt big improvements in my fitness but now I am on the couch as I sprained by back. Presently I am feeling pretty discouraged. But that is the problems. I am on-board and am going to be working on my weight-loss and fitness. I will get my back better and get going and stay on my food plan (to the best of my abilities)! Good Luck everyone!

hi,I too need to lose over 100 lbs.,and learn the right way to do it and to be able to maintain it without letting food become my best friend when things aren't going great. I got the dr.phil book out of the closet and for the first time I will read it and practice what he has to say. Most important thing I have to do is put myself first before anyone or anything to make this work. good luck and am sure we can all get motivated and inspired to do our best but being on message board,which is new to me and I never thought I would be doing this,but I have nothing to lose but to gain new ideas and friends on here. To all great success. debbie

Need to lose at least 100 pounds

I am a 37 year old mother of 2 wonderful boys. I am a nurse and know full well the deadly consequences of being overweight. I thought when I hit 250 lbs that it would motivate me to lose weight and I did, almost 20 lbs before I found out I was pregnant. Well that was all she wrote for that story. I am now at an all time high of 300 lbs and am totally miserable. My son is now 4 years old and I find it so difficult to keep up with him. I am tired of being the "fat" mom that sits on the bench when i take him to the park. My blood pressure has gradually started to creep up and I know that I am at a huge risk for so many life threatning diseases. I am ready to do this, I am determined.
