Looking to Re-Commit to WLC

I lost 50 pounds (goal was 90) using the Dr. Phil program from November 2003 to November 2004.  I've gained 5 pounds back in the past year but I know I am no longer on "project status" with it.  I have lots of "excuses", but I really would like to just do away with those and start working again.  I live on the Nassau/Suffolk border.  I'd love to hear from anyone else on Long Island.

Long Island New York

Hello...Would a person who grew up on the island qualify?

We used to live in Levittown...Suffolk county. I have not

been there in many years...but my best memories are from

that area. Want to email?

Sincerely,

Nancy

Well, I almost gave up on getting any responses here.   But, today there were two!!!

Nancy, where are you living now?  I live on the south shore of Long Island, near the nassau/suffolk border.

The past three days or so,  I've finally gotten serious about restarting my commitment to the WLC.  I'm exercising more, and eating healthier.  And most of all, I;m becomming more hopeful that i can continue this journey.  I decided to use the weight of 221.5 (a gain from my bottom of 216- as a new starting weight) so that i don't beat myself up for gaining, but cheer my accomplishment of losing.

i hope to hear from you again.  Right now my e-mailing is not consistent, so I don't want to say I will do that and then dissappoint.

Welcome.

You did a great job posting for the first time.  If you've read my post you know a bit about me.  My biggest thing with the WLC is really not considering it a diet, but a lifechange.  that way, it is ok to lose slowly, because I know i'm still going in the best direction.

Feel free to express as much or as little as you feel comfortable with.  No pressure.

Are you familiar with Dr. Phil's 7 keys?   They really made sense to me.  I need to go back and review them.

With care,
Sharon

 Hello Nancy and Stephanie,

Nancy,  hope the walk was a good one.  I was going for my morning bike ride (slow and easy) and my friend wanted to take a walk with the dog before riding.  So, I realized how long it has been since i have walked.  I was sweating by the time we got back and we only walked for about 20 minutes at a slow pace.  So, I've got to work walking into the daily or weekly activities.

I will be returning to teaching next week, so i have to figure out a plan to stay with healthy lifestyle.  I thought this summer I would achieve many goals, but it did not turn out that way.  I just really started last week.

Maybe we could devise our own little challenge.  Making individual goals and setting a time frame.  How does that sound?

Stephanie,

It must be a bummer to have the cast on.  I hope you will be getting it off soon.

Is using the boards hard for you?  Is that why you prefer e-mail?

Hope to hear from you soon.

ps.  i lost weight yesterday!!!
266.5/221.5/(217)/175
(i put it in parentheses, cause i'm really only counting it on weekly weigh in on sundays- but i was excited)
