As a Mother of 2 boys I am appauled at the comments I read! No one should wish any ill mannered feelings on anyone! Put yourself in their shoes & maybe you would wish differently or want to be treated differently. No, Beth is not perfect...neither am I. I know a lot of what goes on in my sons lives, but not all. It is up to them to make their own decisions and I am blessed that they confide so deeply in me. I do my very best as a single Mom to guide them and even then that does not always work. Do the math. In this day and age of acceptance to "this generation" what else can you expect to happen. I am tired of hearing children proclaiming that was our generation, not theirs! If more parents spent just a little more time in their own children's lives, educating them on events such as this, then it would be a great wake up call to their future. Children may not always understand that we want what is best, sometimes when it is too late...but it is what we believe to be the best.
