Did u ever get a response from an Oregonian to be your weight buddy? I posted a message like yours and never got any response. I would be interested in having and being a sounding board.

Im from Independence. I am 74, 4'9" tall and weigh 212. I started two years ago changing my life style at 252. It takes me forever because I tend to snack at night and I swear every day I wont. I have brought my cholesterol and tryglycerides way down and I basically eat very healthy and my doctor says I am really healthy. I just EAT to big of a helping and after dinner I want to snack all night. Cant figure it out. I walk a mile every day (almost). I dont get to depressed about it cause I am a pretty happy person and I like myself, teehee. I have been married to a real sweetheart for 53 years and he makes me laugh every day. Thats about it!! If you want to correspond we could exchange email addresses. Maybe we could help each other, we could sure give it a go. Let me know.

Weight Loss Buddy in Oregon

  • Just a response to those of you looking for a weight loss buddy... I too have been seeking a support system to help keep me motivated. I recently lost 70lbs 2 years ago and am unable to lose the other 50lbs it's like it keeps hanging on... or I'm hanging on to it (LOL)  Sincerely. Bren.

Need to get back on track

I'm 50 yrs old and I'm from Salem Oregon.  About 1 1/2 years ago I lost 70 pounds (my husband loss 60).  I think I was able to lose the weight, not only because of Dr Phil's great advise, but also because I was going thru some pretty traumatic things.  My son was sent to prison ( for 7 years) about 2 yrs ago for a car accident, which he caused, 1 week after graduating from high school (pot in his system) and my mother was diagnosed with cancer.

I was physically feeling better and had only 10 more pounds to reach my goal (145 lbs).  But since  then gained 30 pounds back.  I think I got back into emotional eating (my mother died last year).  Don't get me wrong, I'm really not depressed now and do think that humor goes a long way.

Anyway, I gave away all my fat clothes like Dr Phil advised, and I'm feeling pretty fat in the clothes I'm wearing now.  It would be nice to find a group to help motivate each other.  There's just no way I want to ever weight 228 lbs again.  Looking forward in getting to know you all.  Connie

hi there, it so strange that i ran across your message. I used to live in McMinnvile, for about 5 years. I too have 3 kidlets; twin girls who will be 4 soon and a 17 month old little girl. I am looking for someone to chat back and forth with about this weight thing that has such control over my life. My name is Tamara, by the way. Anyway, if your interested I can give you my email address.

Hi Nancy,

I'm from Stockton, California.  I am a disabled, widowed, cancer patient.  After my emergency cancer surgery/diagnoses and while I was still going through chemotherapy my husband unexpectedly died.  The doctors stopped the chemotherapy because I was now alone and was passing out a lot.  We were in the middle of making several needed repairs to our older home when I had the emergency surgery.  I am now living in the ruins LOL  I have been without any income since the death of my husband.  I have all the materials and supplies that are needed to complete the repairs but cannot afford the labor at this time.  I am applying for disabled, widows benefits but it may take a few more months before they finish processing my paperwork.

With everything I have been going through for the past three years I have put on extra weight.  I don't know what kind of weight buddy I would be until the house is livable and I no longer have to take my baths out of a bucket but if you would like to visit my personal web site to learn more about me you may http://mypeoplepc.com/members/jspr007/patricia/  I am willing to provide whatever support I can.  Just let me know.

Patricia, Stockton, California
