These people need to get real. This is like the busboy at Fazoli's trying to tell the Iron chefs how to prepare octopus. Susie is just a whiner, she wants Dr. Phil to side with the woman even if they are the problem.

She didn't want that. She just felt that Dr.Phil was harder on women just because tha males do not communicate or rather express themselves as well as women.
I think she wants Dr.Phil to tell males to do something that most are incapable of doing.

What men are incapable of doing? Paleeeze! Men are capable of doing it, they just refuse to change anything about how they've dealt with women since the iceage! Look how far women have come in becoming so much stronger, confident, employed in much better jobs, etc., and still dealing with families, work, etc. These guys have available to them numerous resources on how to deal with the 21st century woman. Many of them out of sheer stubborness, small-mindedness and laziness refuse to do it, and cloak their refusal to be proactive in the fact that they not 'wired' that way.......give me a break!

Sometimes Dr Phil does side with the women when they're the problem. I've seen this happen on several shows. I wonder how Suzie managed to miss them all.
I agree.

I think men are a little afraid to come on the show. At least some men look that way. I do not know if he actually sides with women even though they are in the wrong but I do feel that he is sensitive to womens issues.
You know what - I love that about Dr.Phil though. It is nice to see a man who is so masculine yet sensitive.Great qualities!

These people do need to get real. Susie is a whiner. Dr. phil isn't easier on the men. And this second guest, there is no "normal" family in America. Every family will have problems, just some worse than others. If he thinks he so good at it, he should do a show and find "normal" people.

Dr. Phil is the Dr. let's not forget that. If you have a degree and more experience then get your own show and leave hime to contiune his excellent work and not spend his time listening to people that have no knowledge in the matter.

I think she probably should have taken the time to do a little research first. Whether it's the 1950's or 2004, men are not women and they shouldn't be expected to act like it. We all come with a genetical chemical make up and what one gender lacks the other compinsates for. She may also want to consider the fact that the 1950's may not have been such a bad time. We have so many women today that can only dream of being able to stay home with their children, like they did way back when. As for Richards comments about the normal family. Problems are normal in every marriage and the fact is, they can turn to everything he thinks is abnormal with just a little neglect. He has a very inmature outlook on marriage but I have to commend him for wanting to know how to prevent it.

Women like her dont "do" research, they just like to hear themselves talk. "eastcoast fireball" would not have been my definition of her..but Dr Phil (being an educated gentleman) let her rant and rave until her 15 minutes of frame was up. I say - Men may never really "get it" but a majority of men are trying..and Im glad there are difference between men and women (think, feel, react) - its necessary and normal. However, there will always be some men and women who will remain clueless on a social level..

What is with this "men are at least trying" line of total CRAP??? They are adults- time to be RESPONSIBLE!!! Here's a little secret: Men do "get it" but they also "get away with it" and THAT'S the problem! So let me get this all straight: a man can rebuild a car's engine but he is incapable of finding and utilizing a laundry chute?! He can build a house but doesn't know how to turn a washing machine on? Come on DR. Phil: in your own words: STOP EXCUSING INEXCUSABLE BEHAVIOR!!

Baloney that she is a whiner! I disagree with her that Dr. Phil is harder on women, but I absolutely agree with her that so many men are stuck in the age before feminism and the strong, confident woman. They still want a slave in the kitchen, the bedroom and a 'yes' woman. They're totally intimadted by strong women, yet will do nothing to elevate themselves to a point where they can deal with one! There is plenty of information out there as to what women really want from a man...get up off your small-minded duff and by a book, attend a seminar, watch Dr. Phil, etc. Not all men are this way, but I'm sick and tired of those that are, who expect to hook a good woman.....get a clue!

GO SUZIE! Dr. Phil needs to lose the this is how men are "wired" excuse. It's a pathetic excuse that gives men license to do whatever they want and not feel accountable because that's how they're programmed? That's RIDICULOUS! and the clips they show of Dr. Phil yelling at the wife beater and adulterer??? Clearly no brainers! Where was the clip Suzie was talking about? That wasn't her point. Her point was that men are not the stupid children who need to be taught how to be responsible that DR. Phil portrays them as being. And he even admits he needed a wife to see the light and to show him the manhood ropes? PATHETIC! and top it all off by saying at the show's end that Robin dresses him everyday? It may have been in jest, but it was very chauvinistic.

Eternal Optimist

Im looking forward to hearing Dr. Phil explain why Stacy is still on stage. I read the clips and he says hes an eternal optimist and that he has to help the mother to help the children; that he deals with Stacy dif. cus of her MO. This brings up more questions for me.
What happens when the mother (or father) simply refuses help? Do you ignore the game playing in hopes of helping the children? How would that truley help?
If her MO is to gain attention by bad behavior, how does being in front of all these viewers work?
If youre an eternal optimist does it affect your ability to concede when that may be the best route for all involved?(meaning concede with Stacy not the children)
Is he stating that he could not help those children if Stacy was not on stage?
Is he saying he tippy toes around her because to deal with her in his normal way would have an opposite effect? If he refuses to engage because it would feed her ego, what does he think being on stage accomplishes?
And lastly, if we are expected to celebrate the change in family, would that not require us all seeing a true change and not a made up Stacy version?
Hoping some of these questions will be answered today.

Stacy and the Kids

I have to say that I agree with Dr Phil. It will do no good to try and fix Chris and the kids without the involvement of Stacy, for several reasons.
First of all, he would only be able to take the kids that are his, and that is if he had the money for a lawyer after she was done raking him over the coals in child support and palimony. If Dr Phil does not get through to Stacy, their family cannot be healthy, because of all the same patterns, and because Stacy really is the center of that family. If Chris wises up, the kids are still left with it.
There is a loyalty that kids of single parents feel towards the parent who has been there through it all, even when the loyalty is not good for them. I would feel differently if they were older, but at their ages, she is their biggest influence.
My only hope is that Stacy means it when she says she is willing to do anything for her family, although I would have to say I would think that a job and a list of daily tasks should be right in the middle of anything.
