Wendy needs to leave the Neverland of her mind and wake up to the reality of her world. She has just gone on National TV to tell the world, including her husband and all of his friends and family how little she thinks of him and her two sons that she wants to chuck it all for a man who admits that he is gay, will remain gay and doesn't think she should leave her husband. Well, honey, it may be too late already. Your husband might just have beat you to the punch and left your sorry self. Now whatcha gonna do? Is Mike willing to inherit you by default? Convince him you have no other place to go, then try try a straight eye for the queer guy gig going? Mike needs to cut you loose for the good of both of you. Apparently you, Wendy, have serious issues that need the assistance of a therapist to work through, because you appear to be so self-involved that you have neglected to think about the feelings of everyone else involved, including Mike. Good omen for a future with her,Mike. Wendy, grow up, get professional counselling help, then try to repair the damage that you have already done to your family, if you are blessed enough to have a second chance with them, that is.

Those Poor Kids

Thank Goodness, Dr. Phil spoke up for those kids! I thought I had heard of everything until I read this story. Wendy should get a grip and take responsability for her life and the choices she's made. I just pray her husband is more stable and can provide the love and security that those kids so desperately need.

I am also glad that Dr.Phil spoke up for Wendy's kids. What the hell is she thinking? And what is going on in her mind that she doesn't understand a man telling her he's gay and not interested. I think she's just looking for an excuse to get out of her marriage and being a mother. I think she needs some serious conseling. I know her husband has to be so embarassed and heart broken. I also agree that the Gay friend should end the friendship, cause it's not healthy at all.
Wendy was leaning so far over toward Mike...

it's a wonder she didn't tip over her chair! And she had such starry eyes & a goofy grin. I don't know that Dr. Phil was really getting thru to her.

My goodness me, is she nuts wanting to leave her huband for a gay man? I think Mike is sending her mixed signals and he needs to stop. There friendships seems honest and true. But Wendy need to realize that Mike is Gay and move on.

Gay men

Wendy, Wendy, Wendy! Wake up! Gay men can be charming, fun, delightful. I am a female who has had gay friends, and I knew that is where it stopped. I also know that that kind of relationship is seductive because it is like having a girlfriend that is a GUY, and the sex issue is non-existant. It is a very safe relationship. So get yourself into counciling and sort it all out. You have a responsibility to your little boys and their dad, your husband. Your family needs you home.

The sex issue

While in most women's relationships with gay men, the sex issue is non-existant, in Wendy's case, it's quite a big deal. I can only assume that her husband isn't satifying her sexually, otherwise she wouldn't be constantly trying to convince her friend that he isn't really gay, just confused.
She's made it awfully clear that she wants this gay man to have sex with her and seems to think he'll come around. She refuses to face facts. He's gay and he's going to stay that way!
Suppose this man were to actually have sex with Wendy. I know he's gay, yet it isn't clear to me that he's ever had sex with another man, but if he has and he's contracted AIDS, he could pass it on to Wendy. I wonder if she's ever given that any thought.

I can not believe a gay man is running around holding hands or whatever Mike is doing with Wendy. If he is really gay, why is he doing that? He had to know he is encouraging her by being with her. Dr. Phil is right that they aren't mature enough to handle this. I hope Wendy will seek help with her unhappiness. I hope Mike has balls and keeps away from her. I do have to say, why didn't the husband file a restraining order against Mike or forbid his wife to see him? It would have been nice to hear from the husband. I hope Wendy realizes what to precious kids she must have and grow up. Once you have kids, it isn't about you anymore.

Two issues here.
Posted by: groovyveg
Posted on: 2004-01-24 17:34:41
I see 2 major issues here. Wendy wants to run away from something & toward something else.
1. Wendy wants to run away from husband/kids/responsibility. I think she should have some time in therapy first with "kicking her to the curb/taking her kids away" as a last resort.
2. She wants to run towards Mike, which is obviously not an option, since he's gay. But she is so gung-ho fixated on Mike, that her attention is diverted from her problem #1 above. During her brief stint on Dr. Phil, much of the focus was, "Wendy, Mike is gay, get that into your head." Mike needs to get out of Wendy's picture & she needs some serious help figuring out why she is avoiding husband/kids/responsibility & figuring & how to rectify that if possible.
I wouldn't want to give up on Wendy w/o getting her in therapy first. I felt no hope for Marty & Erin either, or (on day 1) for Jim losing weight in the weight loss challenge. One thing the Dr. Phil show has taught me is that a lot more people are "improveable" than I realized.

I can understand why Sarah would be upset with her mom. I live with an old man.Iam 50 and my husband is 70 We have been married 7 years. I do a lot of things alone, because my husband is too tired or in bed early. He doesn't have any friends (they are all dead). It may be nice now having a 29 year old but he will get tired of her. Friends will alienate you and dissappear and Bonnie will be alone. When I met my husband I thought WOW, we can do so many things together. Then he had a stroke, Thank God he recovered and working part time. But there is no sex life or fun!
It is not like growing old together, but it is making me old. It is great to live in the present but what will the future hold..
Yes it is Bonnie's life, I wish her luck.

wow, i don't know what to say in regards to this posting...
I am a 3 year old female, living with my boyfriend who will be 50 i feel age doen't matter, however I know he has some serious issues with it. It kinda scares me, but if he ever gets too old to dance or needs his diapers changed...i will still be there for him...for better or for worse..
