This show was for ME!! I, like Chris, had Gastric By-Pass Surgery (December 2002) and I have the smallest body I've ad since I was a small child. I'm 35 now, but feel like a dumb teenager when it comes to men. The confidence (or lack of) I have now is still that of the FAT girl I've always known myself to be....It's so strange to look in the mirror and not see that fat reflection that was always there.....I would LOVE to talk to Chris...Hope he reads the boards...

I am glad to hear about that Giggles, The surgery was the best thing I ever did for myself, but I still felt huge talking to women and thought they saw me as huge even though I was wearing an XL large shirt. Dr Phil gave me great advise which I have been using over and over again, and trying to put myself in situations to make myself do it. I believe thats the only way I will overcome this. I also tell myself all day long how much better I look and feel, becasue for so many years I would tell my self how huge and crapy I looked.

Boy oh boy, if I was still a young chick, I'd sure try to get your attention! Unfortunately, I have sons just your age. You are a very good looking guy and for what it's worth to you, take this old broad's opinion. It is NOT all about looks. I know lots of women who dated good looking guys and after the initial (shallow) attraction, there was nothing left to contiue the relationship. Be kind, attentive, romantic, SINCERE, and yourself and you'll have women looking for YOU!! Good luck, I think you are a gem! You just need confidence!

Hey Chris I saw the show yesterday and I think you are really great. I know how you feel as I have battled weight most of my life and at 36 I still feel insecure and afraid of being judged. I think you are a great guy though(talented also) and any woman would be lucky to have a date with you. Keep smiling and walk proud! :)

I'm 31 and single, with weak spots for guys with artistic eyes... I'd go out with you in a heartbeat, dude! Where are guys like you where I live? Unless you're in Memphis, perchance? At any rate, very brave of you to go on Dr Phil.

This show was a real eye opener for me. I may be only 17 but I realized that I have some real confidence issues. I always feel that people are judging me. I don't think I'm pretty enough or smart enough to be in the classes I am. I want to express a new side to myself, but I'm afraid my parents will make a huge deal out of it cause they want me to change. Wish me luck because I have an oral presentation coming up. Maybe some of Dr. Phil's advice will help me not only to speak in front of a group, but also to approach new people.

Chris,
Your show must have been repeated today...
I can't believe I missed it the first time..I watch everyday.
I really wish you the best and wonder how things are going...for you..I have discussed the "after the weight loss" issues with many of my friends and coworkers. It is a very difficult transition. It is all in our "heads" and without the weight everyone comes to that realization and thats were the "work" begins, inside. Change like this can only come from within.
You do seem like a sincere guy for sure and that is what real women are looking for. I hope you have found happiness with yourself and peace. I would like to "get your attention" as the above emails say...so if any of what I have said did...please let me know. All the best to you, Congrats...K

Hi Chris, I saw you on Dr. Phil today and thought you were adorable. I understand the confidence thing as sometimes I'm a little shy & insecure when it comes to dating. I'm actually looking for a guy who's shy & sweet. Would love to meet someone like you. I'm also an artist and was impressed with you're work. Congrats on the weight loss and best of luck to you in finding that special person. Megan

nasale is so right! I watched the show, and really, it's a shame I'm too old for you, 8 years older. You're a great guy. You just have to get used to the new body you're in, and have a little more faith in yourself. You've got a lot going for you. Don't change who you are. That's what's most important. So many people go for looks, but looks don't last, but a good, kind heart does. Keep up the great work, and you'll be fine! Look at all the nice compliments you got on this board! Take care!

Hi Chris,
since we are some months behind in viewing Dr. Phil here in Denmark, then I saw the show yesterday and I hope in the meantime you finally found the confidence and realized you are beautiful on the outside as well as the inside............and hey, if you ever asked my friends or I out, then we all would have to fight for the date with you. You look great. Buy a new mirrow that will show the real you.

Rather than a nice lookin one. Looks are not everything, character and personality, plus respect are the core to any relationship.

Keep up the great work!! You look fantastic and I really do think the outside looks as wonderful as the great guy on the inside. Wish you were older..I am 46 and would LOVE to meet someone like you. The men I meet are so shallow, and lack the warmth and vitality and kindness you possess. Good luck in your endeavors!!

Hi Chris, I am so happy for you and wish you the very best. I am a shy person to some extent, and not the most attractive, but I somehow try to socialize in a group, but am better on a one to one basis. You look like such a good looking guy and was struck by the idea you would make a great character in a sit-com, i.e. Everybody loves Raymond. Perhaps some acting lessons! You have already shown what great artistic talent you have.

Lol, Thank you very much for the great words. As for acting I think I will leave it up to the professionals :)
As for "not that attractive" believe it or not there is people who thing Brad Pitt might not be attractive. Everyone cant be attactive to everyone, other wise things might get really boring. You just need to keep plugging away and good things will happen. I am a good example of that :)
Thank you again.

Hi Chris, I'm Chrissy! I just wanted to tell you I saw the show today, and even though you may not believe me, I think you're a hottie! :-) I know how you feel though. People tell me all the time how beautiful I am, but gosh dang, I am 25, and have never even been on a REAL date! How can I be beautiful if I can't even get a date? Although I, like you, am scared to put myself out there. That is probably my biggest problem. I feel like the ugly duckling, and I hate it. You are an inspiration to me though, along with the other girl who was on the show too. I forget her name, but she is the one with the twin. It took a lot of courage for you to go on TV and talk so personally about yourself. I applaud you for that, and also want to thank you. Because of you, I may just write Dr. Phil a little letter too! haha. Take Care!
