“There’s a huge double standard for women and men. I signed up for an Internet dating site. There was just no way I was going to put my age in there," declares 58-year-old Caroline. "On my profile, I started at 48, then, I went to 44, 35, 33, 29. I had 50-something guys who were looking for a 36-year-old girl."
Anara says her mother has always been competitive when it comes to relationships. “When boys would come over, she would throw herself at them. I just had to let them decide, ‘Are you going to go for my mom, or are you going to be interested in me?’” she recalls.
“My daughter has always hated my lifestyle. When she was growing up, all the boys came around, and they all hit on me, all the time,” boasts Caroline. “The youngest man I ever dated turned out to be 17. If a man dates a younger girl, he’s a hero, he’s a stud, he’s, like, worshipped. If a woman dates a younger man, she’s a cougar.”
